Kick Hunger To The Curb

Kick Hunger To The Curb
Mr. Stalter's Second Grade ClassIn the month of November the students at Salem Central School are always thinking of ways to help others.  At this time of the year, The Elementary Student Council, under the leadership of Ms. Tina Luke-Byk, conducts its annual food drive.  This year the scholars decided on the slogan, Kick Hunger to the Curb, to promote their food drive in the school community.  The elementary student population, faculty and staff donated non-perishable food items to help the Student Council Kick Hunger to the Curb.  On November 21st, the students bundled up and walked to the Salem community Food Pantry to donate their vast collection of items.  This experience is a very special way for the Salem students to show their appreciation for all that they have and to recognize that others are in need.  Led by our student leaders, Salem Central has again demonstrated that through teamwork big goals can be accomplished.  The kindness and generosity exhibited show everyone how compassionate Salem students are!
